This month, the global arts organization The Liminos Project releases its first 4 audio plays adapting cherished folk tales from around the world.
The collection includes a two-part, 60-minute adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” adapted faithfully from Hans Christian Andersen's original 1837 tale by Broadway writer/performer Ashley Griffin, who is featured in the title role. The series also contains imaginative renditions of “Cupid & Psyche” by Apuleius, adapted by acclaimed UK playwright & poet Peter Oswald, “Catching Time” adapted from a short story by L. Frank Baum (author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) by LA writer Dana Schwartz, and “Outwitting Eloko” from Congolese folklore, adapted by Best Medicine Rep Theater Company's John Morogiello.
“We’re excited to reinvigorate these timeless stories through audio theater that sparks imagination,” said director Henry-Cameron Allen. “Hearing diverse voices from different cultures promotes understanding and inclusion.”
These immersive audio productions enchant listeners of all ages. The ongoing anthology provides a global storytelling experience everyone can access from home.
